Inspired by the water vessels made by artisan craftsmen in northern India and born from an NGO development project undertaken by the British Council and Tom Dixon in 2002, 'Beat' is a celebration of the art of handicraft. Hand-raised, welded, beaten and skimmed into shape, the table lamp bears all the marks of its production process, which is carried out by metalworkers from Rajasthan. Supplied with an EU and UK plug, the lamp is dimmable when used with on-off switch dimmers (not included), and is crafted from hand-spun brass painstakingly shaped to reflect a soft and warm luminosity in a process that takes four days to complete.
