The Mercado placemat features hand-woven construction crafted by artisans from Usiacurí on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. Built over a wireframe base, the weaving process uses dried Iraca palm fiber in intricate patterns, resulting in a textured, detailed surface with natural variation in color and finish. The 80% Iraca palm composition gives each piece a lightweight yet structured feel, while minor imperfections reflect the handmade nature of the work.
