The ‘Beetle’ table lamp combines metal and marble in a clean, sculptural aesthetic evocative of 1980s minimalism. The design, by Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl for 101 Copenhagen, blends seamlessly into modern interiors. A curved mirrored chrome lampshade is set atop five rectangular legs crafted from unique crystalized marble. Light softly diffuses through the legs, which, placed at an angle, play on the idea of ‘radiating’ light, taking on the industrialised aesthetic of a radiator or grille. This portable integrated LED luminary features a rechargeable battery and dimmer, with three adjustable light levels, for changing needs and moods.
