<p>Give the beauty of nature a moment to shine with our striking Botanical Art. We reimagined this sizable piece from an antique naturalist illustration of a Barringtonia plant — a flowering variety of mangrove tree found throughout the southern hemisphere — which caught our eye as we leafed through stacks of delicate, aged pages at a Paris flea market. Upon closer inspection, we were delighted to find that this particular page dated all the way back to the late 1700s, when it appeared as a highly-detailed, hand-colored plate in a botanical encyclopedia. Once back in Chicago, we got right to work on our own reinterpretation, upping its scale and removing any surrounding text to create a giclée print with a fresh, updated feel. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the final product, which holds its own in modern and traditional spaces alike while also honoring the old-school beauty of that original etching.
