These effortlessly chic cushions were made in collaboration with Tensira — a celebrated textile house founded by a Guinean and Finnish husband-and-wife team that blends Scandinavian aesthetics with ancestral West African weaving and dyeing techniques. We dreamt up their four distinctive designs in-house, drawing our inspiration from timeless motifs that we encountered on our world travels. Tensira’s team of skilled artisans then brought these designs to life using cotton that was spun and woven by hand and indigo-dyeing techniques that have been passed down for generations. Finally, each one was filled with natural fibers, which are held in place by hand-tied details. Great for stretching out on the floor with a good book or as a spot for the kids to get cozy during movie night, our JH x Tensira Floor Cushions are also perfect in multiples as seats for enjoying casual hors oeuvres around the coffee table.
