<p>Our Sameera Pillow is the picture of homespun beauty. Following in India’s rich textile heritage, this effortlessly chic layer comes to us from a small rural village near the city of Jaipur, where it was handcrafted from start to finish by a small cooperative of skilled local artisans. This work helps these craft communities to preserve their culture’s time-honored practices while also earning a livable wage to support themselves and their families. The process starts with linen thread, which is handwoven on a traditional loom to create a soft fabric. This fabric is then expertly block-printed by hand, creating a red and blue floral motif on one side and a simple blue-and-white striped pattern on the reverse. Finally, it’s finished off with a hidden zipper closure and a luxe down and feather pillow insert for a plush feel.
